Strategic Consulting
Information is a powerful tool and, as a clearinghouse of timely market intelligence, we believe strongly in our ability to synthesize and distill our brain trust on behalf of our clients. Examples of such strategic consulting projects include:
- Profiling best practices in operations and technology, risk management, audit and compliance to assist a major global securities firm's Executive Committee in creating operating efficiencies and economies of scale.
- Developing a blueprint for US capital markets activities for the securities arm of two major super regional banks.
- Modeling the compensation program of a special purpose global derivatives vehicle of a major reinsurance company.
- Assisting in the creation of a diversity-sensitive recruiting and development program for a major investment bank.
Succession Planning
Options Group assisted a top-tier European bank in succession planning and the selection of its Chief Executive Officer. We identified and prepared suitable employees - through mentoring, training and job rotation - to replace key players (such as in this case the CEO) within the organization as their terms expired. With the introduction of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2003, succession planning in the U.S. has risen in importance as a corporate governance issue.
Capital Introductions
With the proliferation of hedge funds, we have been involved in the capital introduction process in terms of putting strategies and capital together through meetings between managers and institutional, high net worth, family office and endowment firms.
Exchanging Ideas
Given the significant network of relationships we have, thought leadership discussions are often arranged in order to allow for the exchange of valuable ideas.
