Options Group Japan's client, a major Japanese bank, required an in-depth analysis and market overview of its competitors in the structured finance, structured products, trust banking and retail businesses. This bank was undergoing a major global restructuring and its investors required an appropriate marketing "pitch" which would enable it to establish itself as a formidable player in Japan. As a result of these studies, Options Group was mandated to build out of this assignment. The market's initial reaction was negative by both locals and expatriates, but the subsequent successful placement of the management team and other senior managers re-established the bank's credibility just one year after the assignment - a difficult task to achieve in Japan. Despite the economic climate in Japan today, Options Group's client is one of the most sought after employers in the country's financial marketplace.
