Russell Kopp
MANAGING PARTNER

Russell Kopp is a US-based Managing Partner, who was tasked in early 2022, with creating a new franchise within Options Group, focused on Healthcare in Financial Services. He leads our existing client teams across sellside research, investment banking, hedge funds, asset management, private equity and venture cap, where clients have specific needs for healthcare professionals. With a thesis that this unique candidate pool has a clearly defined life-cycle, and many of these leaders need to combine scientific backgrounds with financial and commercial skills, we see a franchise that continues to promise tremendous growth.

Previously, Russell was the Managing Partner of our Asia business, based in Hong Kong. He joined Options Group in 2015 via the acquisition of Whitney Correlate, a top ranked APAC financial services executive search firm, which he co-founded in 2009. During his time in the region, Russell was a recognized thought leader at the forefront of the evolving Equities and Buyside Industries in Asia. At Options Group, he also served as the Head of our APAC Equities and Buyside franchises and regularly placed some of the most senior hires in Asia. With 25 years’ experience in the region, Russell had an unparalleled Client and Candidate network. Russell prided himself on his detailed knowledge of both his Clients' businesses and the wide range of Candidate constituencies across the Equity product and Asia's geographies.

Russell is a dedicated and tenacious but diplomatic closer, who is comfortable across all seniority levels and myriad cultures. His financial services experience spans equity research, equity sales, M&A/ Corporate Finance, strategic planning and senior management roles. Before search, Russell was most recently the Head of Asian Bank Research for HSBC in Hong Kong, playing a key role in China’s major bank IPOs. He has worked in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, India and Pakistan, with Barings, Kleinwort Benson and HSBC, and previously worked in the UK and Sweden.
