Responsibilities

Reporting Line: To Product Head and Regional Head of OGiQ/ Global Head of OGiQ

  • Executing on Options Group priority searches.
  • Proactively learning the basics of executive search from senior search consultants.
  • Building relationships with potential candidates and clients.
  • Identifying, approaching and qualifying appropriate candidates for searches.
  • Navigating the search process from origination to close, alongside senior consultants.
  • Status Reports
  • Bio Books
  • Pitch Books
  • Business Overviews
  • Candidate bios
  • Write Ups
  • Visio Org Charts/ Ensuring all Moves in Relevant Sectors are Updated.
  • Name Generation/ Candidate profiling
  • Candidate Outreach/ Assessment
  • Candidate Scheduling/ Interview Feedback

Additional Responsibilities

  • Navigating the search process from origination of the search to closing of the search alongside senior consultants.
  • Working within existing firm wide database to organize candidates, clients, searches and new business development.
  • Writing job specifications for search mandates.
  • Proactively learning the basics of executive search from senior search consultants.
  • Identifying, approaching and qualifying appropriate candidates for existing searches.
  • Building relationships with potential candidates and clients within area of focus.
  • Originating new search mandates with existing Options Group clients.
  • Creation and maintenance of business development materials for area of focus.
  • Working with researchers and consultants to maintain and update existing search status reports real-time.

Upon the start of a new search, your responsibilities will be

  • Create search in OG Database. Include write up on both the company and the search parameters in Background notes. ALL fields should be addressed, including background notes, attributes, responsibility, and estimated compensation.
  • Add the search to the Active Searches workbench and make sure that the workgroup is appropriate and will be tracked accurately for the internal weekly update call.
  • Look for THREE similar searches from the past THREE years that OG has worked on to begin to populate the search with names attached as RESEARCH.
  • Run targeted search in database/LinkedIn/Bloomberg to identify at least 20 candidates that are potential candidates for the role, but have had limited OG interaction or coverage historically. These profiles should be added, updated, and cleaned to the highest amount of accuracy and attached to the search as RESEARCH.
  • One this is complete, sit with Product Leader to determine priority approaches and areas to more fully flesh out.
  • Attach target candidates to search as POTENTIAL. Use accurate instant statuses and candidate summary sections within the search itself to reflect why candidates are attached to the search. Make sure attached profiles are accurately filled out. Include all jobs, coverage, attributes, CV if obtained and contact information from Bloomberg where available. Once this is done, the initial list for NAMECHECK will be sent (~20 names) to the client; once they come back, these candidates will be moved to QUALIFYING or into Not Appropriate (or other status)
  • Create LinkedIn project for online sourcing. This ensures that target profiles are matriculated to OG Database for later use.
  • Possibly, we will send search internally, with the permission of product leader. Specify search all notes from OG Database and the “blue print” of the search. This should include sourcing process, candidates’ steps in the interview process, anticipated compensation range if available, search timeline. Consult with recruiters covering the space actively to create short list of both potentially relevant candidates and potential firms to source from.
  • Write/update bios for the client team that will be responsible for interviewing the candidate as the search process unfolds
  • THE KEY is making sure that candidates are moving through the search pipeline efficiently. That means, assigning calls, following up on these calls, ensuring all questions are answered appropriately upon submission, attending client status update calls, assigning deliverables, and generally ensuring that the search logistics (genies, instant statuses, etc) are reflected accurately each week.

Ongoing weekly responsibilities include

  • Maintaining workbench of active searches for product leader, ensuring accuracy at search level for instant statuses, background notes, and expected compensation for the role
  • Maintaining workbench of all active searches for fundamental hedge fund roles
  • Attending weekly status calls both internally and with client to ensure deliverables are executed on
  • Liaising with OGiQ and OGTSU to further build out pipeline of candidates for specific searches as well as key areas for mappings
